Christmas Family Room

Hello Friends!
I'm baking brownies right now (Ghirardelli with chocolate chips). I have 15 more minutes until they are done! I can hardly wait, the smell is wonderful! As I'm waiting, I've been looking for a little Christmas inspiration for my Family Room. I always need a little boost of CREATIVITY to get the wheels in motion for my Holiday Decorating. I start getting the itch to decorate for the Holidays as soon as Halloween is over. How about you?
I found this picture from Pottery Barn on Pinterest. I love everything in this picture! I especially love the adorable little brown wagon! As I look at the charming Christmas decor in this beautiful family room. I think about the Symbols Of Christmas. We are all expressing our love and joy for Christmas through our Holiday Decor. We are displaying candles, the traditional colors of Christmas, along with garlands and wreaths decked out in beautiful ribbon and bows and most importantly the true meaning of Christmas, a reminder from the letters spelling Noel. The time is flying by and soon Thanksgiving will be upon us. I cherish the season.

I love the smell of Christmas Trees, and the cozy comforts of quilts, twinkling lights and the love of family and friends. I love it all, and that is why this Christmas blog came about. Although, my blog has evolved into all Seasons of Creativity and Inspiration for Home and Family. I appreciate you all following along on this fun creative journey. Thank you Dear Christmas friends! I love your visits, your emails and your sweet comments. Thank you to my Etsy friends. It's been a busy and fun Fall Season.

Fall Pumpkins, Thoughts |

A 9/11 Tribute

We(my family) have been watching the 9/11 coverage on the History Channel. On that dreadful day-ten years ago, my children were at the young age of: Toddler(18 mths), Preschool(four), kindergarten(six) and Elementary age. We've talked about September 11 and how it's affected our country. I look at the faces of my children as they watch the tributes of 9/11. I can't help but think of the innoncent children in the world affected by 9/11. It is heart breaking. I'm overcome with emotion, as I'm sure all of you are. My heart goes out to all who have suffered loss. We will forever REMEMBER. God Bless America.

Hello Friends!

Welcome June! Summer is here!

We've had beautiful weather this week.
I know the HOT weather is coming soon!

I have kids that are out of School and a few that are still in School!

I will be happy for them all to be out at the same time!

I've been thinking about Christmas projects, because I like to start creating

a little Christmas Magic in the summer!
How can you not get excited when you start to see all the

Christmas fabrics and Crafty Creations arriving in your favorite quilt and craft stores?!

(It's the only way to get projects accomplished!)
Plus, it helps to keep my kids busy!

Last year, I started the Twelve Days of Creative Christmas.

It took a lot of time, but it was well worth it, I felt like I was multi tasking at the same time.

I finished projects early that I might have left until the last minute.

My tree was up early, my neighbor and teacher gifts were finished early.
I also loved meeting new friends and followers.

It's great to share!

It really was a good thing!

I want to continue it again this year! I started November First last year.

I'm thinking about adding a little more FUN with the SEASONS, since my blog is about

"Seasons of Creativity and Inspiration for HOME and FAMILY"

So........this is what I'm thinking:

The Twelve Days of Fall

The Twelve Days of a "Boo"ti-ful Halloween

The Twelve Days of a Thankful Thanksgiving
I may combine Fall and Halloween.

I'm open to any thoughts or suggestions from all of you.

Have a Fun Summer!

Hello Friends!

Life is moving quickly, as it always does!
I'm EXCITED to say....

I'm HAPPILY setting a extra plate at the dinner table!

My son just returned HOME from a LDS Church Mission from Richmond Virginia!

I can't describe the JOY it is to have him HOME!

I'm celebrating and relishing every moment.
I'm taking TIME to enjoy it all!

School will soon be out for my younger kids.

My children are going all different directions in life.

I will be taking a break from posting for awhile.

My greatest role in life is being a MOM.

There is no greater JOY!

Thank you to everyone for your cupcake orders!

I will be back with more Fall and Christmas Joy!

When I become a Parent:

I will let my kids do whatever they want.
I will have a whole bunch of puppies.
I will let my kids stay out late, they can come home whenever they want.
I will buy them whatever they want!
I will let my kids have a TV, computer and phone in their room.
They can play whenever they want to.
Good grades won’t matter.

We will go to the Sand Dunes every weekend.
I won’t make my kids go on Family Vacations when they are teenagers!
I will give them a cell phone when they want one!
I will let them watch TV all night.
I will let my kids stay up late every night.

The list goes on and on.......
Just a few perks that my children say they will let their children do when they become parents!

I wish them the best of luck!

Sweetheart

I was lucky to receive three sets of wood letters to decorate how I choose.

I still have "FAMILY" and "CELEBRATE" to finish!

My wood letters arrived promptly and packaged nicely and

ready to DECORATE!

I decided to make "sweetheart" for my little daughter's room.

I added fabric flowers, fabric stems along with pink rick rack,

and white bead trim with ribbon.

(You can see more of the true colors in the picture that is taken outdoors).

As I was going through pictures today, I came across this "sweet" picture.

It is one of my favorites. This was a "sweet" day! The weather was

beautiful, two of my children were talking to each other for the longest time,

as they were feeding the ducks.

We enjoyed watching the Mother duck with her babies.

Welcome New Followers!

No Boys allowed

I love my boys, I treasure my boys, don't get me wrong.

One thing I've learned, my sewing room/craft room doesn't jive with my boys curiosity!

The sewing machine has a motor, that's intriguing!

My glue gun works great on RC car repairs.

I always buy "PINK" sewing and crafting tools

thinking that will distract their desires.

Not a chance, they don't care.

The gingher scissors work great everywhere!

Next, the rotary cutter, now that is an awesome tool to a teenage boy.

They like to test it out on my ribbon and fabric!

My gingher scissors, they should have those available in the Tool isle for men!

My boys think my ginger scissors work great for cutting wire, rope, 4-H projects,

you name it-nothing works like Mom's sewing scissors!

So, I hide the scissors, I hide them from myself!

I don't get into their tools, why do they get into mine?

Just curious, does this happen at your house?

I found my ginger scissors on the driveway!

The glue gun was in my sons room.

I need a lock and a sign!

Boys keep life exciting!

What would I do without them?

Happy New Year!

Welcome 2011! Welcome Friends! I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas. I sure did! I'm having a hard time taking the trees down and saying farewell to it all. I plan to keep the beauty of Christmas shinning brightly a little bit longer, at least until my kids return back to school. I display my Christmas Nativity throughout the year as a gentle reminder to keep the Spirit of Christmas alive.

Today, January 1st, 2011- my little daughter is dancing and singing to her Christmas CD that she received in her stocking, around and around the room she goes with her scarf flying in the air. I'm enjoying her energy and her sweet little voice singing away! How I wish I could bottle her youth and the precious age of SEVEN in a bottle!

As the new year begins, my head is spinning at all the things I want to accomplish this year! Where do I begin? I'm looking forward to new projects, new adventures and new roads to travel as my kids are moving into new adventures of their own. One will soon be getting a Drivers License, one will be returning HOME(counting down) from a mission, and the list goes on.

Every year at the top of my list : "Enjoy the simple things of everyday life". I've come to appreciate them so much more as my children grow older. I've also come to appreciate the spilled milk on the counter, shoes and socks on the floor, Toys and Nerf Gun Bullets everywhere, and so forth as Treasured Blessings. The "socks on the floor" will someday be a missed memory!
